Motivation of the Project

In the same way which architectonic buildings and constructions of the antiquity or the more important movements for the history of the country are conserved for history, the industries have been the motor that made possible that Catalonia walked to the present time so and how we are now, thus would have to be catalogued as much from the point of view of the architecture, since some of them belong to identifiable styles, like from the point of view of their historical and social value since they are singular cultural elements of Barcelona.

For all these reasons we propose to Conselleria of Consum i Turisme of the Generalitat de Catalunya, to Conselleria of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, to l' Ajuntament of Barcelona, l' Ajuntament of the Districte de Sant Martí and to 22@bcn the construction in Poblenou of a PARK HISTÓRICO-CULTURAL representing in miniatures the industries and more important elements of the Catalan Manchester.

Un món en miniatura

The scale models imagine scale 1/25, 1/33 is 1/50 according to are their measurement or real structure and the industries of century XIX and XX will be constructed to be able to be a faithful exponent of the technological advances of that Barcelona.

The Park of the Catalan Manchester will have to reproduce the sensations and to reflect the activities that were carried out at their time, reason why the elements that are constructed will be a faithful reflection of the activity that generated each one of the industries that reproduce in miniature: the chimneys you would hecharan smoke, some companies reproduciran the scent that characterized them according to its industrial activities, will sound the sirens when the change arrives from turn, the trains of will move and the stations will announce the exits and arrivals of the trains, will be traditional trambías above and down, and popular “the Catalan” will even unite the Poblenou with the Clot.

"La Mar Bella" will be represented with its boats of fishing and like orienting point the present sport port, the Mafre towers, the triangle of the Forum and the Agbar building.
